Description
Nestled in the pristine landscape of the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge near Hermanus, South Africa, lies the extraordinary Creation winery. Situated 350 metres above sea level, the winery spans across the spectacular Walker Bay, offering breathtaking vistas complemented by world-class wines. An embodiment of balance and harmony with nature, the vineyard stretches across 450 hectares of undulating landscape, befitted by the perfect cool maritime climate which lends its magic to the grapes grown.
At Creation, the wine-crafting process is underpinned by a blend of old-world and modern techniques. With great respect for nature and transformative viticulture practices, Creation has adopted an organic and biodynamic approach to wine production. The result is a diverse portfolio of high quality, terroir-driven wines that eloquently express the distinctive characteristics of their origin.
Creation Syrah Grenache is a lavish yet elegant wine from the Western Cape of South Africa. It boasts a deep crimson hue and exudes enticing aromas of ripe black fruit with hints of white pepper and clove. On the palate, notes of mulberry and blackberry are mingled with opulent spices, resulting in a complex, rich flavour. Its velvety tannins and balanced acidity are complemented by an enduring finish. Imbued with the robust character of Syrah and the sumptuousness of Grenache, this wine pairs exceptionally well with red meats and is ideal for servings at sophisticated gatherings.
Food pairings: Its rich, umami-driven flavours make it a great match for dishes like herb-crusted rack of lamb with rosemary jus, wild mushroom risotto, or grilled ostrich fillet with a berry reduction. It also complements slow-roasted lamb, especially with black olive cannelloni. More generally, it pairs well with umami-rich dishes, aged cheeses, cooked and cured meats, and even dark chocolate with chili.
