Mazoyères-Chambertin is a Grand Cru vineyard in the Gevrey-Chambertin commune of Burgundy's northern Côte du Nuits subzone. It is located at the southern end of the area's band of grand cru vineyards, with its southern edge touching the border of Morey-Saint-Denis. Like most of its more famous neighbors, Mazoyères-Chambertin is planted entirely to Pinot Noir.
THE WINE ADVOCATE (92 - 94+) points
"While it isn't the grandest appellation in the cellar, the 2017 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru gets my nod as the finest of these négociant offerings from Jean-Marie Fourrier. Unfurling in the glass with notes of currant leaf, smoked meats and cassis, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with velvety tannins, tangy acids and, above all, a sense of completeness that sets it apart. Fourrier told me that it derives from a parcel of especially old vines." - William Kelley, 04/2019
