Description
Chitry-le-Fort is a small village, positioned 12km south west of Chablis. In 1993 the village was awarded the appellation ‘Bourgogne Chitry’ for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The warming climate of recent years has improved the consistency of the wines and demand has soared both domestically and abroad. Aurélie and Thibault Giraudon (sister and brother) are the current generation in control at this leading domaine and are very focused on delivering fresh, elegant wines that are uniquely Chitry.
This is a young Pinot Noir offering simple but delicious flavour of fresh raspberries and cherry fruit, a little red liquorice. Light and smooth on the palate making this very easy to drink. It finishes with fresh acidity and chalky tannins. Try this with paté, a selection of charcuterie or goats cheese.
