Drink 2030-2038
Bastien has tried out 15% whole bunches this year. Deep purple. The nose is very backward to begin with. Fine quality on the attack, a dark sensual strawberry fruit with just a little spice. This is very complete, and speaks of Charmes-Chambertin admirably. A long satisfying finish with structure. Drink from 2030-2038. Jasper Morris

The 2023 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from 1.3 hectares that are broken down into subplots. It contains around 15% whole cluster—a prudent amount that may increase in the future. This has a delineated bouquet with vivacious red fruit, wild strawberry redcurrant and just a touch of iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. It's one of the more floral cuvées from Rebourseau on the nose and fine weight on the finish that is open and "airy" in style. - By Neal Martin on November 2024
