Description

Santenay is an underrated cru that is starting to show real class and great value for Burgundy lovers.

The first vines at the domaine were acquired by Auguste Regnard just after the first world war and Florian is the fourth generation involved, now tending those precious, original parcels. Their seventeen hectares of vines stretch across the southern Côtes de Beaune.

The domaine practices sustainable viticulture and respects the terroir and the nature of each vintage. Florian and his partner Camile have recently built a slick, modern winery and the wines have clearly benefited from the investment.

The Santenay, from 20-30 year old vines, is aged for 12 months in oak barrels (30% new). The winsome nose, full of delicate red fruit, is all charm but the palate has real savour and great energy. A great find from a village that is still off the radar.
