The 2021 vintage is characterised by a late harvest due to slower vegetative growth, with warm days in July and August ensuring balanced rainfall that facilitated good water retention in the soil. This difference in day and night temperatures later in the year resulted in excellent acidity and phenolic maturation, promising superb structure and balance. Ripe and generous, the wine presents an array of dark fruits and sweet spices, complemented by a distinctive smoky character typical of this terroir. The palate is dense and round, still somewhat closed, but the vintage's effortless freshness provides length and true depth. With a 98-point rating from James Suckling, this wine is best enjoyed from 2026 to 2060, rewarding those with the patience to wait.

23 Jun, 2023 – Lovely aromas of strawberries, plums, and berries. Bark and mushrooms. Complex and aromatic. Medium to full body with super fine tannins that are supple and gorgeous. Lovely length. So attractive now. Leave it for four or five years. Better after 2027.
