Description

The 2019 Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard Les Serpentiers showcases the estate's commitment to tradition and quality. Aged for 15 months in 2nd and 3rd-year barrels, this 1er Cru offers a fine, lacy persistence, with a classically proportioned structure and a beautiful dark red fruit profile. It is both subtle and delicate, exhibiting more depth and layered complexity compared to the Rouvrettes. The wine is marked by a textbook line of fine minerality, lending it a long, weightless sensibility that is mouthwatering and floral. Deliciously appealing, this wine is perfect for pairing with all feathered game, as well as classic dishes like beef bourguignon, ham with dregs, and Gaston Gerard chicken, enhancing any dining experience.

*****

About five centuries ago, Jean Girard began cultivating vines in Savigny-Les-Beaune. Seven generations later, Jean-Jacques Girard creates his own estate to perpetuate the family tradition. In 2008, his son Vincent joined him on the farm. Today, the family farm covers about fifteen hectares, growing excellent quality Pinot Noir.

1er Cru Les Serpentieres is a wine of fine, lacy persistence, classically proportioned with a dark red fruited register. Subtle and delicate yet has notably more depth than the Rouvrettes, more layered complexity. It has been aged for 15 months in 2nd and 3rd year old barrels. The textbook driving line of fine minerality gives this a long, fine, weightless sensibility that is both mouthwatering and ever rising in its floral sustain. Delicious.

FOOD PAIRING: All feathered game without forgetting the traditional dishes: beef bourguignon, ham with dregs, Gaston Gerard chicken.
