Description
Les Greffieux is located at the foot of the Hermitage hill, on a glacial alluvial deposit terrace composed of shingles and clay. The vines here are over 50-years-old, creating powerful wines. This vintage displays enticing floral (peonies), bramble leaves and blackcurrant notes. Appealing palate with satin tannins and complex, berry and gently smoky notes on the finish.
The Wine Advocate RP (93-95) - Drink Date: 2025 - 2040 - "Quite forward and precocious, the 2021 Ermitage les Greffieux offers up scents of pencil shavings and red-berried fruit. Is it a little too cedary perhaps? Often the plushest of the parcel selections, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and supple, with a long, silky finish tinged with cranberries."
