Description
IN BRIEF
Matias Morcos Criolla Chica from Barriales, San Martin, is a distinctive wine that showcases an ancient method of viticulture, where old immigrant vines have grown feral like "little trees." The grape-picking process is precarious, often involving wooden ladders to navigate the wayward branches, a practice seen in Eastern Mendoza and Salta. This wine is made primarily from old pergola-trained vines, with Criolla Chica recognized as the "Daddy" of the Criolla family, originally named Listán Prieto from the Canary Islands, introduced to the Americas over 600 years ago. The wine offers beautiful red berry ripeness, with aromas of strawberries and cherries. It is light and soft on the palate, featuring juicy acidity and a delicious finish, best enjoyed lightly chilled.
