ABOUT THIS WINE
Mira Nestarcová Cabernet Franc from Moravia is a captivating wine that embodies incredible energy and character, reflecting the unique philosophy of its creator. The vineyards from which this wine originates are intentionally allowed to grow freely, mimicking their natural habitat. This minimal intervention approach, with no pruning, allows the vines to reach for the sky, resulting in a distinctive expression that captures the essence of the terroir.
Mira Nestarcová’s background as a ballet teacher and artist influences her winemaking, and this is beautifully reflected in the labels of her wines. Each label pays homage to inspiring figures from the world of dance and art, embodying the character and spirit of the wine within. The Cabernet Franc is dedicated to Mary Wigman (1886 – 1973), a German dancer and pioneer of expressionist dance, known for her philosophy, "We don't dance history, we dance feelings,” highlighting the emotional connection that wine can evoke.
The Cabernet Franc itself is sourced from a sandy soil vineyard that is 17 years old. The grapes are fermented very briefly on whole clusters, including the stems, which adds complexity to the final product. After fermentation, the wine is aged for eight months in older barriques, allowing the fruit to shine while integrating subtle oak influences.
This Cabernet Franc displays vibrant aromas and flavours that resonate with its name, embodying expressions of catharsis and ecstasy. The wine is characterised by notes of fresh red fruits, herbal undertones, and a touch of spice, creating a dynamic tasting experience.
As a reflection of Mira Nestarcová’s dedication to quality and artistry, this Cabernet Franc is not only a delightful addition to any wine collection but also an invitation to explore the emotional depths and nuances that wine can offer. Enjoy this expressive and characterful wine as a testament to the natural beauty of the Moravian landscape.
