Description
Having grown in for 6 generations, this family estate has been rooted at McLaren Vale for 182 years! Exclusively made from the Taranga vineyard with vines aged between 15-70 years old. Shiraz is the ‘treasury’ of this estate; outstanding from MacLaren Vale.
Concentrated and intense but still balanced, expect aromas of vibrant blackberry, dark chocolate and coffee on the nose. The palate is moreish with generous dark cherry, fresh mulberries, liquorice and prominent spice elements. With no disappointment, the tannin is pronounced yet well-integrated. The fruit-driven finish is lifted with a note of cocoa powder to incorporate another layer of flavour.
A great value Shiraz from Southern Australia! Pairs well with rich, savoury dishes, particularly those featuring red meat. Consider slow-cooked beef brisket, Moroccan lamb tagine, or even a juicy burger with blue cheese.
