Description
Rockford is one of only a handful of Australian producers recognised by the prestigious Langton’s Classification, a benchmark for collectability, market demand and auction performance. Just under 100 wines earn this distinction, and Rockford has three: Basket Press Shiraz (First Growth); Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon (Second Growth) and Sparkling Black Shiraz (Second Growth).
Moppa Springs hails from one of the driest, toughest parts of the Barossa, cold and frosty during pruning, then hot, dry, and dusty by harvest. It’s in these harsh conditions that Grenache, Mataro, and Shiraz thrive. The 2020 vintage was shaped by a hot, dry summer and an intense, early harvest, finishing by 20th March.
"A superb introduction to the Rockford DNA, this classic Barossa blend offers a wonderfully approachable red filled with red plum and tart red cherry, earthy cocoa richness and a spicy, brambly finish. Concentrated, deep and smooth."
