Description
IN BRIEF
Awarded 17+ points by Jancis Robinson, this wine presents a succulent and ripe profile, with enticing notes of raspberry and cherry that linger beautifully on both the nose and palate. While not overly generous, it showcases compact tannins and zesty acidity that enhance the finish. Vinous scores it an impressive 94+ points, describing its initial stubbornness on the nose that eventually blossoms to reveal aromas of red cherries, wild strawberry, and pomegranate. The palate offers medium-bodied sappy red fruit, fine depth, and grip, culminating in an admirably precise finish. Although it requires time to settle, this mercurial wine promises rewarding complexity with years of aging, with a drinking window extending to 2055.

From: Back to Burgfest: 2017 Reds – Blind (Jan 2022)
The 2017 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is very stubborn and closed on the nose, then opens wonderfully to offer red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate scents, but frustratingly, it ebbs away with further aeration. Very mercurial. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine depth and grip, delivering admirable precision on the finish. It will need a few years to settle down, but it should come good in the end. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. - By Neal Martin on September 2021
