The Vergelegen estate in Stellenbosch founded on 1 February 1700 (meaning “situated far away”), blends rich heritage, beauty and sustainability with vision and innovation. The Reserve range showcase the estate’s terroir and varietal expressions. The beautiful illustration of the welcoming front gates at Vergelegen beckon visitors to the farm either in person or via the exploration of the wines.
Sourced from the north and north-westerley vineyards where the slope of the mountain flattens slightly. This allows for some buffering against stressful conditions. Aromas of ripe plum intertwined with indulgent dark chocolate and subtle nutmeg notes with a velvety soft finish.
