Description

The 980 AD Cabernet Franc is a remarkable wine crafted exclusively from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes sourced from the top of the 'Colline' cru at Villa Saletta. It undergoes a meticulous production process, including gentle pressing and fermentation in small new Allier French oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation and 24 months of aging in oak, with an additional 6 months in the bottle before release. With an intense deep ruby red colour, the wine showcases a complex bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, including cherries and blueberries, complemented by notes of black pepper, vanilla, and rosemary. On the palate, it is elegant and round, featuring fine tannins and a long, persistent finish, making it an excellent pairing for grilled meats and hearty Tuscan dishes.
