Brothers Vincent and François Jouard lead this family estate with Vincent managing the vineyards and François overseeing the cellar. Pierre-Henri Jouard started working with his father François at their 11 hectare family domaine in 2022 and is now slowly taking over responsibility for the winemaking.

Their passion for cultivating their ancestral property in Chassagne-Montrachet is evident, as they prioritise honouring the land's terroir. Embracing sustainable farming practices, they employ extensive ploughing to eliminate the need for chemical weeding. Focusing solely on their oldest vines, aged 50 years and above, Jouard produces a limited number of cases each year, contributing to a growing waiting list. All the wines were barrel fermented in 228 litre pièces, the vast majority being Allier oak from tonnellerie Chassin.

The village Chassagne is aged in 20% new oak whilst the premiers crus are matured in 25 to 30% new barrels.

Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and violet are complemented by hints of earth and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and elegant, with silky tannins and bright acidity. Flavours of ripe red fruit, cranberry, and a touch of herbal freshness unfold, leading to a refined, lingering finish. A beautifully balanced wine, showcasing the finesse and complexity of old vines, perfect for both immediate enjoyment and aging. 14%abv
