ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
Château Beaulieu 'Cuvée Alexandre' from Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence is a distinguished rosé that reflects the rich heritage of the estate, owned by the Guénant family. Nestled along the Mediterranean coast near Rogne, the vineyards have a storied history, having been farmed since Roman times, with the château itself built in 1576 as a stronghold for King Henry III of France.
Spanning 300 hectares, the vineyards are situated at an elevation of 400 metres in the heart of an ancient volcanic crater. This unique terroir boasts a mix of basalt and clay soils, which contribute to the character of the wines produced. The sunny, dry Mediterranean climate allows for fully ripe grapes, while the cooling sea breezes mitigate the hot, drying influence of the Mistral wind. This interplay of conditions grants the wine its delicate freshness.
'Cuvée Alexandre' is crafted from a careful blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification process is akin to that of white wine, employing direct pressing of the juice to separate it immediately from the skins. This technique minimises the extraction of phenolics, resulting in a highly delicate rosé with a beautiful pale pink hue.
The wine exhibits enticing notes of wild strawberry, redcurrant, and juicy white peach, offering a delightful bouquet. Rounded on the mid-palate, it showcases excellent natural acidity, which contributes to a refreshing finish. Château Beaulieu's 'Cuvée Alexandre' is a beautiful representation of Provence, perfect for enjoying on sunny days and pairing with Mediterranean dishes, seafood, or light appetizers.
