*****
Bodegas Emilio Moro, located in the renowned village of Pesquera de Duero in the heart of Ribera del Duero, is celebrated for its high-quality red wines primarily made from Tinto Fino, a prized clone of Tempranillo. Founded in 1932 by Emilio Moro, the estate is now run by his grandsons José and Javier Moro, who uphold their grandfather's belief that "wine is an art" that requires understanding, care, and attention. The brothers view their wine as a living entity, with each vintage immortalizing a part of their essence and evoking the land from which it comes. Eschewing traditional classifications like crianza and reserva, they focus on creating wines with personality and individuality, including vibrant Godello whites from Bierzo, which capture the family's heritage and the character of their vineyards.

This pale yellow-colored wine has aromas of pineapple, guava and fresh ginger. Pineapple and ginger carry onto the palate and are met with a full texture, brilliant acidity and flavors of white chocolate, rose petal and passion fruit. A nice salty note lingers on the palate. — Mike DeSimone
JAMES SUCKLING 93 points
Creamy and toasty nose with hazelnuts and roasted cashews to the freshly squeezed lemon and a drop of crushed-stone minerality. Flavorful and slightly saline, with a medium-bodied, mouthwatering finish. Very succulent, yet creamy mid-palate texture. Shows length and brightness. Drink in 2023.
