ABOUT THE WINE
Clos de La Fortune is one of the most exceptional sites in the village of Bouzeron. Planted in 1963 on quite a steep, south facing slope, it is planted 100% with Aligoté. The 2021 is a wonderful example, with ripe and textural stone fruit flavours dancing alongside the floral and citrus peel undertones. 10% new oak was used this year and it adds a subtle balance to the wine whilst enhancing the tropical flavours. It is very apparent that Aligoté from this site is something special.
JAMES SUCKLING 92 points
A very flinty and chalky aligote with stacks of Amalfi lemon fruit this is a really expressive example of this grape with a personality reminiscent of good Chablis. Long, structured finish with spot-on balance. Sustainable. Drink or hold.
DECANTER 91 points

Part of Aligoté: Burgundy’s other white wine plus 26 of the best to seek out
Drinking Window: 2025 - 2040
This powerful, structured wine comes from 1.22ha on the north and west-facing slopes of the lieu-dit Les Courcelles, opposite Les Clous. This cooler exposition delivers crisp lemony fruit with a pronounced note of fresh green herbs and a suggestion of salty minerality. The grapes are fermented in cask with only a very small percentage of new wood and aged for 15 months. Begs to be paired with food and will be at its best after a couple of years in bottle. Should age well.
