Description

A beautiful estate overlooking the Rhône just above the town of Chavanay, in the northern part of the Saint Joseph appellation, adjoining Condrieu and Côte Rôtie.

Philippe & Véronique Grenier set up the domaine in 1994 and now have ten hectares of organically farmed vines. They have just started construction on a new cellar and tasting room providing them with much-needed additional space.

Vinification is traditional with harvesting by hand and fermentation by indigenous yeasts. Gentle juice extraction, often by basket press, is followed by ageing for twelve months in oak barrels and foudres.

The 2020 harvest began on 10th September in ideal conditions and continues the exceptional quality achieved by this estate since 2015.

2020 Condrieu ‘La Côte’
100% Viognier. It comes from a small of vines. All vinified partly in oak barrels and partly in tank (50/50 roughly). Good weight from this top vintage in the Northern Rhône valley with lovely floral and orchard fruit flavours and great tension. Will pair nicely with food.
