Description
IN BRIEF
Domaine Pavelot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2020 has received high accolades, earning 93-95 points from Vinous. The wine exhibits a delightful and pure bouquet, featuring enticing aromas of honeysuckle, wild peach, apricot blossom, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity that contributes to a taut and fresh character. The wine's saline quality enhances the overall experience, while the oak, aged for one year, is seamlessly integrated, adding complexity to the lightly spiced finish. This exceptional Chardonnay exemplifies the elegance and finesse typical of Corton-Charlemagne. With a drinking window spanning from 2024 to 2045, it is a perfect choice for wine lovers seeking depth and sophistication in their collection.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Pavelot boasts a rich history that dates back to the 17th century when the Pavelot family established its roots in Pernand-Vergelesses, Burgundy. This family-owned estate, now managed by the talented brother-sister duo Luc and Lise, continues to carry on the traditions of their father, Régis. With 9 hectares of vineyards, the domaine primarily focuses on Premier Crus, alongside two esteemed Grand Crus: Corton and Corton-Charlemagne.

The Corton-Charlemagne, in particular, is noted for its remarkable quality—upholding a reputation that competes with some of the best examples in Burgundy while maintaining a more accessible price point. The wines are characterized by their elegance, depth, and complexity, showcasing the unique terroir of the Côte de Beaune.
Luc and Lise’s diligent work in the vineyards, combined with their commitment to traditional winemaking techniques and minimal intervention, allows them to create wines that genuinely reflect the characteristics of their terroir. As Domaine Pavelot continues to gain appreciation among wine enthusiasts and collectors, it stands as a hidden gem in the Burgundy wine scene, offering exquisite expressions of the region's winemaking heritage.
