The 5th Duc, Maurice de MacMahon, has taken over the winemaking from his mother at the family domaine, L’Abbaye de Morgeot, in Chassagne-Montrachet. The estate has historically rented out its vines and sold grapes to the leading Beaune négociants, but now they are vinifying and bottling the best wines under their own name.
Just five barrels were produced from the domaine’s 1er cru holding in La Garenne, the highest altitude premier cru in Puligny. Retains wonderful freshness even in hot summers such as 2022. Crisp and very elegant with fine minerality. Drink 2025-2029.
