TERRES DE VELLE
Terres de Velle is a relatively new winery established in 2009 by Sophie and Fabrice Laronze, a husband-and-wife team located in Auxey-Duresses, Burgundy. The couple manages a 7-hectare estate and produces wines from 18 different appellations each year. One of their standout offerings is the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet, which consists of 80% grapes sourced from 65-year-old vines in the Nosroyes vineyard and 20% from the Levrons vineyard, planted around 30 years ago. This wine is celebrated for its purity and aromatic expression, featuring a nose dominated by white flowers and citrus fruits, alongside delicate mineral qualities. On the palate, it exhibits remarkable precision and tension, leading to a complex depth of flavor and a lingering finish. The small-batch production limits this wine to only about 1,900 bottles per vintage, making it a delightful find for enthusiasts.
