Description
Château Quinault L'Enclos, now under the expert stewardship of the Cheval Blanc team, crafts exceptionally polished and modern Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé wines from its unique urban vineyard in Libourne. The 2015 vintage in Saint-Émilion was highly celebrated, marked by a hot, dry summer and timely September rains that resulted in beautifully ripe, concentrated fruit with excellent structure.
Comprising 69% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine offers an inviting bouquet of ripe black cherry, plum compote, and delicate floral notes, underpinned by subtle toasted oak. On the palate, it delivers a deeply satisfying, velvety experience; plush tannins seamlessly integrate with juicy dark fruit and refined spice. The finish is remarkably long, echoing elegant fruit and freshness.

A Deeper Dive;
Chateau Quinault L'Enclos
The acquisition of Château Quinault L'Enclos in 2008 was both a dynamic project and a new challenge for Cheval Blanc. From the very first years, this urban vineyard benefited from the same care, attention, and expertise as its prestigious older sibling.
The acquisition of Quinault L'Enclos in 2008 was, from the outset, a revitalizing project for Cheval Blanc. It provided the Grand Cru team with the opportunity to venture into new territory, which they embraced as a space for freedom and experimentation. The two estates, separated by only six kilometers, continue to enrich each other. The vines of Quinault L'Enclos are rooted in the commune of Libourne, nestled in the meanders of the Dordogne River. In this southern part of the city, viticulture is believed to date back to the Gallo-Roman era. The 19-hectare Quinault L'Enclos estate thus stands as an urban vineyard, while still belonging to the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation. This verdant enclave bears witness to the area's once-prestigious vineyards.

"A blend of 69% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon aged exclusively in 500-liter barrels, 50% new, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Quinault l'Enclos opens with expressive black cherries, red currants and black raspberries notes with hints of baking spices, cigar box and bay leaves plus a waft of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with vibrant red and black fruits, supported by finely grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and spicy."

"This is the best wine from here ever with very soft and round tannins. Polished and beautiful. Medium to full body, round and soft tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A gorgeous wine with excellent length and drinkability. Drink or hold."
