Description
IN BRIEF
The Giodo La Quinta is an exceptional all-Sangiovese wine made from younger vines in a vintage known for its abundant sunshine and heat. It showcases bold fruit tones of candied cherry and baked raspberry, with a primary intensity that perfectly complements cheesy dishes like lasagna or baked brie. The finish is smooth and tight, making it enjoyable now and suitable for ageing until 2028. The 2021 vintage received high praise, including 93 points from The Wine Advocate for its punchy cherry confit and tart blood orange aromas. James Suckling also awarded it 93 points, noting its lovely sweet berries and fresh acidity. Decanter echoed this sentiment, giving it 93 points for its bright red fruit and clean, precise palate.

With Sangiovese picked from the estate's younger vines, the Giodo 2021 La Quinta is punchy and bright with cherry confit, raspberry syrup and tart aromas of blood orange or nectarine. The wine is easy-drinking in spirit with open fruit and a reassuringly transparent personality. The finish is lean and fresh. This is a production of 13,000 bottles.
JAMES SUCKLING 93 points
Lovely sweet berries and plums with some cherries. Pine tree and other forest characters. Medium to full body. Round tannins and fresh acidity. Tangy and vivid. 100% sangiovese. Delicious now but will age beautifully.

Bright and lively on the palate, such beautifully expressed raspberry and red cherry fruit flavours alongside high-shining acidity that is so clean and precise. Joyful expression with hints of caramelised strawberries and fresh mint. So sharp but so well defined with a clarity to the palate that is gorgeous. Not totally complex but delivers a balanced, easy to enjoy wine with plenty of life. Ageing 12 months in 500l French oak barrels.
