Description
Boyer-Martenot continues to impress with their exceptional wines, particularly their 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté, which showcases the estate's dedication to quality and sustainability. Under the guidance of Vincent Boyer, the fourth generation of the family, this delightful Aligoté hails from 40-year-old vines in Meursault, cultivated on clay-limestone soil. Certified organic, the wine undergoes fermentation and aging for 12 months in older barrels, followed by another 8 months in egg-shaped concrete vats, enhancing its freshness while developing complexity. The result is a crisp and refreshing wine with a round, silky texture and vibrant lemony fruit. This characterful Aligoté promises to be enjoyable upon release, making it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a lively, elegant wine to savor between 2025 and 2027.
*****
Vincent Boyer makes a quintessential Meursault with rich, opulent, intensely concentrated fruit balanced by mouthwatering acidity and minerality. Vincent Boyer took over from his father, Yves, in the early 2000s and now runs the family Domaine with his sister, Sylvie. Since 2018, all the wines have been fermented and aged for twelve months in barrel followed by a further nine months in 900-1800 litre, egg-shaped, cement vats. The aim is to retain the maximum of freshness whilst allowing further development of the wines during the second winter.
His 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté is delightful. Certified organic, from 40 year old vines in the village of Meursault grown on clay-limestone soil. It was fermented and aged in older barrel for 12 months and concrete eggs for 8 months. The resulting wine is crisp and fresh yes round and silky with vibrant lemony fruit. A lovely, characterful wine that will drink well upon release. Drink 2025-2027.
