Description
Catherine Marshall Pinot Noir on Clay Soils, formerly known as the Reserve, comes from heavier clay soils; the resultant berries carry a deeper, more brooding character displaying layered, textured truffle savouriness and earthy forest floor interwoven with concentrated black cherry compote harmoniously supported by mineral textured tannins.
Ageing potential: Although the wine is approachable at its primary stage with fresh cherry and red berry components evident at youth, the wine will age for at least 10 years where primary components will evolve to tertiary forest floor, truffle, earthy and savoury notes that are typical in great Burgundy examples.
Food pairing: This is first rate, expansive Pinot Noir that pairs well with glazed duck, mushroom risotto, boeuf bourguignon, lamb, coq au vin, venison and ostrich.

Perfect for Tandoori...
For Tandoor dishes with its smoky profile from the clay oven cooking, an earthy Pinot Noir such as this beautiful Pinot from Clay Soils carries a richer earthier texture with mushroom savouriness that brings out those traditional flavours found in the tandoor.
