The French Spiritery, Château du Breuil – Normandy has decided to give birth to the Single Malts of Château du Breuil. Experts in the distillation and aging of spirits since 1954, the estate’s master distillers have relied on their know-how, their audacity and their sensitivity to imagine a unique Single Malt whiskey of high quality. With Le Breuil, Château du Breuil has succeeded in creating the first French Single Malt whiskey produced from 100% Golden Promise barley, a variety known to be at the origin of whiskeys with an intense malty character, long and silky in the mouth sourced from James Fawcett's Farm (Aberford, Scotland) & Yorkshire Woldfarms (Driffield, Scotland) and double-distilled in their copper pot stills before being aged in a combination of French oak and Peated Scottish oak barrels.
Subtly smoky, featuring hints of forest floor, laurel and fresh cereals on the nose. The wood imparts a toasty character. The peat takes centre stage on the palate, revealing aromas of pepper, grapefruit and cardamom. Delightfully delicate with aromas of praline, exotic fruit and wild peach on the finish with plenty of finesse with an overlay of peat. Persistent and complex with a long finish.
