Description
Taittinger Brut Réserve NV is the signature release from this historic Champagne house, widely recognised for its elegance, finesse, and vintage-to-vintage consistency. What sets this non-vintage blend apart is its unusually high proportion of Chardonnay, which typically makes up around 40% of the cuvée, alongside Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The grapes are carefully sourced from over thirty-five different crus across the region, resulting in a Champagne of notable lightness and structural grace.
Pouring a brilliant golden yellow with a finely beaded, persistent mousse, the wine presents an inviting and approachable bouquet. Aromas of white blossom, ripe peach, and crisp green apple are interwoven with subtle hints of vanilla pod, toasted brioche, and acacia honey, which develop during a minimum of three years of maturation on the lees in the house's cellars.
On the palate, it is lively, fresh, and harmonious. The vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavours are balanced by a delicate creaminess and a crisp, chalky minerality. The finish is long and exceptionally refreshing. This Champagne is an ideal apéritif, yet it possesses the depth to pair wonderfully with freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon blinis, or delicate seafood canapés.
