Description
The Boigelot family have been cultivating vines since 1918. Eric learned his craft at Coche-Dury before founding his own 3.5h Domaine in Monthélie where his family have had land for generations. Today Eric and his wife Patricia tend 9h around Meursault, Monthélie, Volnay, and Pommard. The Boigelots relocated the winery to Meursault in 1998. Eric is now joined by his son, Charles who followed in his father’s footsteps, working for 3 years with Coche-Dury, 1 year with Paul Pillot and Henri Germain.
Drawing on the estate’s commitment to traditional viticulture, this 100% Pinot Noir captures the purity and elegance of the 2024 vintage. The nose is exceptionally pretty, offering a vibrant bouquet of wild strawberries, red cherries, and delicate floral notes.
On the palate, the wine is silky and poised; bright acidity balances the supple red fruit flavours, while fine, lace-like tannins provide a sophisticated structure. With its lingering finish of earthy minerals and subtle spice, ‘Mon Village’ is a quintessential Burgundy that drinks beautifully in its youth, yet possesses the balance to evolve gracefully over the next few years.
Neal Martin for Vinous - 87-89 points: "Monthelie Mon Village is made from 4 plots, Haut Brins, two in Romagniens and Pierrefitte. Destemmed. Medium crimson. Very peppery finish with plenty of pretty light red fruits as well". Drink from 2027-2029. Tasted Oct 2025.
