Tinto Pesquera MXI is a distinguished wine from the renowned Ribera del Duero region, produced in 2022. The winery's legacy began fifty years ago when Alejandro Fernández and his wife Esperanza Rivera purchased a 16th-century winery in Pesquera de Duero. Committed to reviving the area’s ancient winemaking traditions, they created Tinto Pesquera, now celebrated as an iconic estate often referred to as the “Spanish Pétrus” by critic Robert Parker. Their efforts played a pivotal role in placing Ribera del Duero wines on the global stage.

Crafted from premium Tempranillo grapes grown at an altitude of 900 metres in “El Monte Alto de Pesquera” (the Highlands of Pesquera), this fresh and fruity wine is aged for 14 months in meticulously selected barrels of varying capacities, all toasted to a medium char.

Tasting notes reveal a vibrant ruby colour, with aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, and subtle hints of spice and vanilla. On the palate, it offers a balanced structure, velvety tannins, and fresh acidity, with layers of dark fruit and a touch of earthy minerality.

Perfectly paired with rich dishes, Tinto Pesquera MXI complements grilled lamb, roast beef, or hearty stews. Its elegance also shines alongside aged cheeses or dark chocolate desserts. Introduced in 2016 as part of a new project under Familia Fernández Rivera, MXI represents a commitment to quality, love, and respect for the land while welcoming the new generations of the Fernández family into the business.
