This favourite is what Vouvray is all about – a wine of contradictions it is fresh, dry and steely-mineral yet with a nice plump texture, rounded and nuanced. Or 'gently dry' as they say in France. From 100% Chenin Blanc it is a classic European match with fish, white meat and pork belly. Pale yellow with green tints. Pleasant nose suggestive of ripe pear, apple, peach and white flowers. The attack is soft and the palate reveals dashing aromas with a silky mouthfeel and lingering freshness. Elegant and refined.
