Description
Rodenbach 'Grand Cru' is a legendary Flanders Red Ale, often described as the "Burgundy of Belgium." This complex blend of one-third young beer and two-thirds beer matured for two years in traditional standing oak foeders. This long maturation process imparts a distinctive vinous character, mirroring the depth and elegance of a fine red wine.
It pours a stunning deep reddish-brown with a creamy head. The flavor profile is a sophisticated balance of sharp lactic acidity and rich, fruity notes of black cherry, plum, and balsamic, finished with dry oak tannins.
Its bright acidity makes it an exceptional food companion. It pairs perfectly with North Sea shrimp croquettes, rich beef stews like Carbonnade Flamande, or pungent blue cheeses. For a sweet contrast, try it with dark chocolate.
