Description
At Louis Roederer, resilience and innovation go hand in hand. Following the devastation of the First World War, which destroyed over half of the estate, Léon Olry Roederer set about meticulously reconstructing their vineyards. To ensure the House’s continuity during those challenging times, he made the pioneering decision to create a multi-vintage champagne that would offer unwavering consistency, regardless of the harvest year’s variations. This vision birthed the legendary Brut Premier, laying the foundation for today's exceptional Collection series.
The Louis Roederer Brut ‘Cuvée Collection 246’ NV proudly carries this historic mantle. It is crafted from a classic blend of around 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier, incorporating reserve wines beautifully matured in large oak tuns. Sourced from a carefully selected array of crus, the wine is patiently aged for three years in Roederer’s cellars, followed by a minimum of six months' rest after disgorgement to allow the cuvée to fully harmonise.
In the glass, it strikes a brilliant balance between youthfulness and maturity. It is wonderfully harmonious and structured, marrying lively freshness with a distinct, appealing vinosity. You will find it remarkably elegant yet rich in character. Its finely structured texture and impressive length offer a complex, full-bodied experience that is simultaneously rich and powerful, all while remaining a true classic. It is a beautiful testament to the House’s enduring commitment to quality and a perfect champagne to share.
