Crafted by César Martí, Cuba’s youngest Maestro Ronero, Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old is a rich and structured spirit that redefines the island's traditional style. Inspired by 19th-century Cuban rum-making, this exceptional rum boasts an unusually high proportion of aguardiente (70%), which forms the deeply complex and flavourful heart of the blend. It is aged for a minimum of seven years in white oak ex-whisky barrels, resulting in a perfectly balanced and robust profile.
In the glass, it presents a rich amber hue with a mahogany tint. The aroma is highly expressive, offering comforting notes of freshly roasted coffee, dulce de leche, and toasted almonds, subtly interwoven with a touch of cherry and floral cane sugar.
On the palate, Eminente 7 Year Old is full-bodied and impeccably smooth. Rich flavours of vanilla, caramelised pear, and dark chocolate are gracefully balanced by a spicy kick of ginger and a hint of Sichuan pepper. The finish is remarkably long and warming, leaving trailing notes of prune, dark chocolate, and a faint whisper of smoke. This versatile rum possesses the complexity to be savoured neat, yet it remains vibrant enough to elevate premium cocktails.
