Description
Château Brane-Cantenac is a distinct interpretation of the Margaux appellation’s terroir. Unlike the boldness of Pauillac, Brane-Cantenac embodies elegance and finesse, with part of its vineyard planted on the prestigious "Terrasse 4", a unique geological feature that enhances its wines’ complexity and depth. With a terroir of fine gravel and sandy soils that impart a unique silkiness to its wines.
Once owned by Baron Hector de Brane, a visionary who elevated Margaux’s reputation in the 19th century. The estate’s 50-hectare vineyard, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Merlot (18%), and a touch of Cabernet Franc (1%) and Carmenere (1%), produces wines that are elegant, perfumed, and wonderfully balanced, with notes of red berries, violet, and subtle spice.
Under the Lurton family’s stewardship for exactly 100 years, Brane-Cantenac blends tradition with innovation, including organic and biodynamic practices, ensuring each vintage captures the essence of Margaux’s refinement. A pleasurable, age-worthy wine, it’s a testament to the art of subtlety and sophistication."
