Description
Frequently competing with the classified growths of the appellation and sourced from a superb site overlooking the Gironde estuary, the blend is typically composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a significant portion of Petit Verdot. The 2025 vintage offers an intense aromatic profile of bramble fruit, blackcurrants, and hints of roasted coffee, supported by an earthy, iron-like minerality.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and robust, showing the muscular structure and firm tannins for which the estate is known. This density is balanced by a striking freshness and a concentrated core of dark fruit. With its excellent structural integrity and depth, the 2025 vintage is built for long-term cellaring, promising a sophisticated evolution in the bottle.
"Under the ownership of CA Grands Crus, both Château Grand-Puy Ducasse and Château Meyney continue to benefit from sustained investment and a clear focus on precision, in both vineyard and cellar. In Pauillac, Grand-Puy Ducasse has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, with a new winery designed to vinify each parcel with greater accuracy. In Saint-Estèphe, Meyney builds on one of the Médoc’s most coherent vineyard holdings, overlooking the Gironde, with a long-standing reputation for structure and ageing potential. Meyney, true to its origins, delivers depth and structure, supported by fresh acidity and a firm yet integrated tannic frame. These are confident, well-executed wines that underline the upward trajectory of both estates, disciplined in style, and increasingly compelling within their respective appellations." - Lucie Richard, Junior Buyer - DIVA Bordeaux
