Description
Now under the expert guidance of Mathilde and Hubert Grivot, the 2023 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée is a beautiful introduction to the family’s refined style. Blending several premier sites across the village, this wine is crafted to reflect the pure essence of the vintage rather than a single terroir.
It opens with an understated, elegant bouquet of blue fruits, black cherry, and exotic spice, mingled with nuanced forest floor and incense. On the palate, it is wonderfully balanced and creamy, offering lovely red fruit and blood orange flavours supported by exceptionally silky, light tannins. Finishing with a subtle dash of white pepper, this finely crafted, medium-bodied Burgundy promises graceful evolution and will drink beautifully over the coming decade.
VINOUS 88-90 points
Drinking window: 2027 - 2037
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village is quite understated on the nose. Forest floor scents mix with incense as red berry fruit tones gently unfurl in the glass, though it doesn't make too much of a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit mixed with blood orange on the entry and moderate weight. It is finely balanced with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you'll have a lovely Vosne Village on your hands.
