Description
When Claudio Fenocchio succeeded his father, Giacomo, at the helm of the family business in 1989, the debate between modernists and traditionalists in Barolo was at its height. He chose a third path, often described as radical traditionalism. His wines are renowned for being impressively approachable in their youth, while continuing to improve with age. Claudio represents the fifth generation of the Fenocchio family, crafting elegant, authentic wines that capture the spirit of his vineyards.
These Dolcetto grapes comes from Bussia Cru Zone in Monteforte d'Alba grown on blue marl and tuff. Aged for six months in stainless steel tanks with successive maturation in the bottle for another 6 months.
It’s a typical everyday wine, with a vivid expression of the Langhe territory. It shows great presence and generosity of fruit aromas and flavours – blackberry and hints of violet, cocoa, black pepper and even earthy undertones. The tannins are delicate and rounded, there is an excellent balance on the palate finishing with a crisp, refreshing aftertaste.
