The exceptional Alvi's Drift 221 Chenin Blanc from South Africa's Worcester region is a tribute to the estate founder, the 221st player to wear a famous Springbok jersey. Produced by his grandson, Alvi van der Merwe, this wine uses premium free run juice from slope grown vines. Fermented with wild yeasts, a quarter is aged in French oak and acacia barrels for depth, while the rest remains in steel to retain vibrant fruit. The nose offers intense tropical fruit, nectarine and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is beautifully creamy with ripe lemon notes and refreshing acidity. This sustainable wine pairs wonderfully with grilled white fish, calamari or roasted chicken.
