Description
Jacques Carillon is a revered master of Puligny-Montrachet, crafting some of the appellation's most elegant and age-worthy white wines from his historic five-hectare estate. The 2023 vintage in Burgundy saw a warm growing season with excellent fruit health, producing wines that balance rich concentration with a vibrant, preserving acidity.
This Puligny-Montrachet, a blend of seven parcels, is vinified in 15% new French oak before an eighteen-month maturation in wood and stainless steel. It reveals a sophisticated bouquet of white flowers, lemon zest, and a distinct flinty minerality. On the palate, the venerable 40-year-old vines deliver impressive depth and a precise, poised structure. The finish is remarkably long and intensely flavoured, showcasing the estate's hallmark for refined power. Best enjoyed from 2028 onwards.
