Bibi Graetz remains one of Tuscany's great creative originals, an artist-turned-winemaker who founded his project in Fiesole in 2000 and continues to approach wine with the same irreverent spirit he brings to his colourful labels. Old vines and native grapes remain central to the philosophy, with Sangiovese from sites around Florence and Chianti Classico forming the backbone of Testamatta and Colore. Bibi Graetz Colore and Testamatta 25th Anniversary Pre-Release Offer

A cracking pre-release offer to end the week from one of our favourite producers and one of Italy’s most fascinating, accomplished and iconic winemakers.

In fact, Jane, Kasia, Paul, Daniele and I were lucky to spend a long morning with Bibi at his vineyards and a tasting and lunch at the winery (cooked by Bibi and his wife Benedicte) earlier this month. One of the highlights of our week in Tuscany the man and the wines did not disappoint.

The warmth, passion and personality of the man himself were every bit as impressive as the beautiful wines he produces. Both Bibi and his wines lived up to, and perhaps even exceeded, our expectations. A truly memorable visit and one we will all look back on with great fondness.

I'm super excited to offer limited releases of Bibi’s Colore 2024 and Testamatta 2024.

Both wines have received high praise from some of the world's most respected wine critics, with the Colore red reaching 97 points from James Suckling and the Testamatta 95!

For the 25th Anniversary Release each case will contain artwork designed by Bibi, giving this offer an added unique selling point to regular collectors of Bibi’s wines.

No cellar is complete without a case or two of Bibi’s wines and to make the offer even more attractive with Bibi’s support, we are pleased to improve the pricing on previous vintages.

The Wine Advocate 94 points
The Bibi Graetz 2024 Testamatta has a pretty elegance, with a texture reminiscent of a tapestry woven from fine silk threads. The mouthfeel is mild and mid-weight, with delicate structure and lovely acidity that gives the wine a clean, snappy close. This is an especially graceful expression of Sangiovese. Testamatta is made from 100% Sangiovese sourced from several Tuscan vineyard sites.- Monica Larner

2024 Bibi Graetz ‘Testamata’ Red Wine- The 2024 Bibi Graetz ‘Testamata’ Red Wine is a gorgeous IGT that is all old vine Sangiovese from high elevation, north-facing vineyards. It immediately gratifies with its velvety mouthfeel. This is a powerful, very seamless ‘Testamatta’ with a glorious core of red fruits alongside blood orange zest and salty soil nuances. So good to enjoy now, be sure to give this at least an hour in the decanter if consuming now. Drink 2026-2042

2024 Bibi Graetz ‘Testamata’ Red Wine - The fruit is sourced from vineyards high above Fiesole at 400 to 650 metres of altitude. Light in extract, subtle, delicate yet tactile with those lovely slightly crumbly, grippy Sangiovese tannins that both sculpt the wine and seem to massage minerality into the palate. Sundried tomatoes, rose petals, rosewater, hibiscus, lavender and a delicate but persistent dry spiciness – cinnamon and nutmeg. There’s a little wild sage too. This is beautifully managed, above all in such a challenging vintage. Fresh, bright and crystalline, with quite a pronouncedly structural role played by the acidity.
