Now, the Quinta dos Murças Reserva 2021 is a classic Douro red blend, showcasing indigenous varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Amarela. Produced by Herdade do Esporão, this organic wine is sourced from the estate's oldest west facing vineyards. The winemaking process involves hand harvesting, foot treading, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by careful ageing to develop complexity. On the palate, it offers intense black fruit flavours like blackberry and cassis, complemented by spicy oak notes, refined tannins, and a fresh, balanced structure. It is a powerful yet elegant representation of the Douro terroir. This impressive vintage has been awarded 92 points by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
