Description
Les Pagodes de Cos 2020 is the second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel, the pre-eminent estate in Saint-Estèphe. Sourced from vineyards on a south-facing gravel ridge with high clay content, this wine benefits from the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot.
It is dark and expressive, revealing aromas of ripe black cherry, liquorice, and tobacco. The palate is fleshy and opulent, yet remains structured with powdery tannins and a vibrant, classical freshness. Highly acclaimed by critics, it offers a harmonious balance of fruit richness and energy. While approachable in its youth, it possesses significant ageing potential, reflecting the power and complexity of its celebrated terroir.

Drinking Window 2024 - 2035
The 2020 Les Pagodes de Cos is dark, sumptuous and super-expressive. There is an element of mystery to the 2020, it’s a wine that is not ready to show all of its charms just yet. Ripe dark cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, tobacco, incense and dried herbs all build nicely in a Pagodes that balances fruit richness and energy. - By Antonio Galloni on December 2022

This second wine is complex and structured. At same time, it has the proper openness and precocity of a second wine. Likely to age smoothly, the wine will be ready from 2026. — Roger Voss

27 Apr, 2021 – This is a racy Pagodes with beautiful fruit and tannins that leave a nice, persistent finish. Medium to full body. Savory finish. Tight and clean.
