Description
Scopetone is a historic Montalcino estate revitalised by Loredana Tanganelli and Antonio Brandi, who maintain traditional, organic winemaking at this minuscule property. The 2023 vintage in Tuscany saw a wet spring followed by a warm summer, resulting in vibrant, balanced Sangiovese with excellent acidity. This IGT Toscana blend is 100% Sangiovese, comprising 20% declassified fruit from Montalcino and 80% from nearby Montecucco. Fermented in stainless steel, it offers a bright bouquet of red cherry, wild herbs, and a hint of forest floor. The palate is crisp and elegant, showcasing pure red fruit and fine, supple tannins. A clean, refreshing finish makes this an incredibly approachable and food-friendly red, honouring the estate's heritage of refined simplicity.

This wine opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, cured meat, mild spices and subtle hints of bark. It is crunchy and tense with a savory character, featuring a medium body and lively acidity that contributes energy and brightness. The finish is lingering and focused. Drink or hold.

Crushed strawberries and blueberries contrast lavender pastille and spice as the 2023 Rosso di Montalcino opens in the glass. Vibrant acidity elevates crisp wild berry fruits and mineral tones on the juicy palate, which tapers off with a sweet-and-sour sensation.
